Our Frozen Peeler Crab is one of the most effective sea fishing baits you can use in the UK. Each pack contains approximately 4–6 crabs, depending on size. Early in the season (Feb–April) we get the larger first-moult crabs, while later on, smaller crabs come in larger quantities per pack.

⚓ How to Use Frozen Peeler Crab

• Can be used whole or cut in half, depending on the target species

• Best rigs for bigger fish: Pulley rigs, Pulley Pennels, Pulley Droppers

• Rigs for smaller fish (plaice, flounder): Clipped or flapper rigs

• Secure with bait elastic or cotton for a natural presentation

Hook suggestions:

• Small baits: Size 2–4 (Kamasan, Sakuma Manta, Mustad)

• Large baits: Size 3/0–6/0 (Sakuma Manta Extra, Mustad Viking, Kamasan Uptide)

🦀 Storage & Handling Tips

• Live crabs: Keep damp with seaweed in the fridge and monitor carefully — they peel quickly.

• Frozen crabs: Can be fully peeled and cling-filmed or vacuum-packed. Alternatively, freeze whole in the shell with the bag sealed to prevent freezer burn.

• Softback crab: Still excellent bait after peeling.
