Approx. 6–7 inches
Our Medium Launce (Greater Sandeel, Hyperoplus lanceolatus) are superb-quality, premium frozen sea fishing bait, ideal for both shore and boat fishing. Carefully blast frozen to lock in freshness, these natural sandeels are a proven favourite for targeting hard-fighting predatory species.
The Greater Sandeel, commonly known as a Launce, is a long, slender predatory fish found in UK coastal waters, particularly over sandy seabeds. With their natural scent, profile, and action in the water, Launce are extremely attractive to predators such as bass, rays, pollack, and mackerel.

- 💡 Solent Baits Tip: Cut the tail off and use half a sandeel or eel – more juices are released, attracting more fish. Bigger bait isn’t always better. Try fishing close in as well as at distance; fish often feed near the shore. I’ve had rays and bass feeding just 20 yards out, especially on an incoming tide.
