🚚 DELIVERY INFORMATION – SOLENT BAITS
Delivery Charges
• Free delivery on UK mainland orders over £70
• £9.75 delivery charge on UK mainland orders under £70
We are based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
Scotland Deliveries
We only deliver to the Lowlands of Scotland.
We do not deliver to the Highlands due to extended courier transit times.
Lowland Scotland deliveries may take 2–3 working days.
Please only place an order if you are satisfied with this delivery timeframe, as we cannot accept responsibility for spoilage caused by extended transit times beyond our control.
Important – Perishable Goods
All frozen and live bait is packed in insulated packaging with ice packs and dispatched for next working day delivery (Monday–Thursday).
Due to the perishable nature of these products:
• Someone must be available to receive delivery on the selected delivery date.
• Delivery times are estimates and may occasionally take 1–2+ working days due to courier network delays.
• We cannot guarantee temperature on arrival if delivery is delayed beyond the intended delivery date.
If a courier delay occurs outside of our control, we cannot accept responsibility for defrosted bait resulting solely from that delay.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods were faulty or misdescribed at dispatch.
Delivery Attendance Requirement
By placing an order, you confirm that:
• Someone will be present to receive the parcel on the delivery date, OR
• You have provided clear safe place instructions at checkout.
If no one is available and no safe place instructions have been provided, the courier may follow their standard delivery procedure.
We cannot accept responsibility for deterioration caused by failed delivery attempts where no one was available to receive the parcel.
Safe Place Policy
Customers may nominate a specific safe place at checkout.
If you request delivery to a safe place:
• Responsibility transfers once the parcel has been delivered in accordance with your instructions.
• Solent Baits cannot be held liable for loss or theft after confirmed delivery.
If no safe place is nominated:
• The courier will follow their standard delivery procedure.
• We do not authorise automatic delivery to an unspecified safe place without customer instruction.
Proof of delivery may include GPS confirmation, delivery scan, and photographic evidence.
Returns
Due to the perishable nature of frozen and live bait:
• Perishable goods are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
• Frozen and live bait cannot be returned once dispatched unless faulty at the time of dispatch.
If you believe there is an issue with your order, please contact us immediately and we will work to resolve it.
If a return is agreed:
• Return postage is the customer’s responsibility.
• The parcel must be returned frozen, in the same condition it was sent, via next working day courier service.
We will always try to resolve any issue directly before a return is required.
